The roots of Western thought

The Classical, Medieval, and Renaissance Studies minor at Â鶹ÊÓƵ University is an interdisciplinary 18-hour program open to all students. Drawing on offerings across multiple departments, students explore the history, literature, philosophy, and culture of the ancient and pre-modern world — culminating in a 1-hour capstone experience.

What You'll Study

Classical, Medieval, and Renaissance Studies opens the door to the great texts, ideas, and cultures that shaped Western civilization and the Christian intellectual tradition. You'll engage history, literature, philosophy, and theology across three foundational eras — developing the depth and breadth that serious intellectual formation requires.
