As Christian sociologists, we study social life with the conviction that understanding human relationships — and the way sin affects them in a fallen world — is not merely academic. It is purposeful. The Department of Sociology and Family Studies at Â鶹ÊÓƵ develops students who actively study, diligently research, and consciously participate in society, discovering ways in which God is calling them to be His agents of renewal here on earth. Our interdisciplinary program draws from sociology, psychology, Christian studies, communications, and economics to prepare students for careers in counseling, family ministry, child life, social services, and every context where understanding people in community is essential to serving them well.

Criminal Justice

The Criminal Justice major at Â鶹ÊÓƵ University prepares students for careers in law enforcement, criminal justice administration, and related fields through an interdisciplinary curriculum grounded in Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s four core values. Students develop a strong ethical foundation alongside practical knowledge of the criminal justice system and its institutions.
