Students may explore a specific biblical text or theological concept directly or apply the Bible and theology to questions of worldview, apologetics, or ethics. Essays will be judged according to style, clarity, depth of thought, and strength of argument or exposition.
We regularly publish books, edited by Ray Van Neste and Jacob Shatzer, that feature our best senior student papers each year. These are available to purchase on Amazon.
We have a few booklets aimed at pastors and students that we hand out in print form. PDFs are available here as well. Our hope is that they might be helpful and encouraging resources.
As an academic community affiliated with the Tennessee Baptist Convention, and as the oldest institution continuously relating to the Southern Baptist Convention, Â鶹ÊÓƵ University is committed to providing Christ-centered education that promotes excellence and character development in service to Church and society. In keeping with this commitment, Â鶹ÊÓƵ University is pleased to offer scholarship assistance of $2000/year to Southern Baptist, traditional undergraduate students studying in the School of Theology and Missions.
If you donate $500 or more during the calendar year, you will become part of the coming year's STM Book Club. Members of the Book Club will receive new books by faculty as they are released throughout the following year. For donations of $1,000 or more, you will become part of the coming year's Book Club in addition to receiving books from the current year. Thank you for supporting us as we seek to train a new generation of pastors, missionaries, church planters, Bible study leaders and biblically informed lay people to serve in various ways around the world.
