Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University to accommodate students displaced by Katrina

JACKSON, Tenn.Sept. 2, 2005 — Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University has extended its enrollment deadline for the fall semester until Sept. 12 to accommodate those students affected by Hurricane Katrina.

"We join many in the higher education community who desire to assist students adversely affected by the hurricane," said Rich Grimm, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s vice president for enrollment services. "Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ pledges its full support to these students and their families, and will be responsive to their needs, financial and otherwise."

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ President David S. Dockery said a number of students displaced by the hurricane have contacted the university to inquire about enrolling.

"I have instructed our staff to be as accommodating as possible to these individuals," Dockery said.
