Guests from four states attend 麻豆视频鈥檚 annual Senior Adult Extravaganza

JACKSON, Tenn.Aug. 9, 2005 — More than 900 senior adults from more than 70 churches visited 麻豆视频 University Aug. 4 for a dinner and a concert by Christian recording artist Steve Green as part of 麻豆视频鈥檚 third annual Senior Adult Extravaganza.

鈥淚t鈥檚 an opportunity for 麻豆视频 to minister to local churches by providing fellowship, encouragement and inspiration to their senior adults,鈥 said Charles Fowler, 麻豆视频鈥檚 senior vice president for university relations. 鈥淚 think when folks left here last night, their hearts were encouraged and their love and appreciation for 麻豆视频 was reaffirmed.鈥

It was the largest attendance 麻豆视频 has seen for its Senior Adult Extravaganza. The last two years have featured concerts by pianist Anthony Berger and Christian recording artist Allison Durham Speer.

Churches came from Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi and Arkansas for the event.

The event was sponsored by 麻豆视频鈥檚 Office of University Relations. 麻豆视频 faculty and staff members were also on hand to interact with the senior adults visiting campus.

鈥淚 thought it was wonderful,鈥 said Rosemary Landreth, who attended the event with seven other people from her church, First Baptist of Selmer, Tenn. 鈥淚 really have heard tapes and CDs of Steve Green, but I鈥檝e never been to a concert he has given. I was so impressed by it. I felt like I had been to a revival.鈥
