JACKSON, Tenn. — March 30, 2004 — Political analyst David Brooks will be the featured speaker April 1 at the 2004 Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Forum. Brooks will discuss the upcoming presidential election at a luncheon on the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University campus.
Brooks is a regular analyst for The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer and senior editor at The Weekly Standard. He is a columnist for the New York Times and a contributing editor for Newsweek and the Atlantic Monthly. Before joining The Weekly Standard in 1995, Brooks spent nine years with the Wall Street Journal, where his posts included op-ed editor and Middle-Eastern, Russian, European and South Africa correspondent. His works have appeared in the Washington Post, The New Yorker, Smart Money, U.S. News and World Report and the National Review.
Each spring, the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Forum hosts distinguished speakers in an effort to provide opportunities for lively conversation with the nation’s leaders and thinkers. The luncheon begins at 11:45 a.m. in the Coburn Dining Room of the Barefoot Student Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Building on Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s campus. Tickets are $20 per seat and tables of six may still be purchased for the event.
