JACKSON, Tenn. — Feb. 17, 2004 — Randall W. Phillips of Â鶹ÊÓƵ City recently joined Â鶹ÊÓƵ University as an associate vice president for institutional advancement and will provide leadership in the area of grant and capital project gift development.
"Randy Phillips has a remarkably thorough knowledge and understanding about Â鶹ÊÓƵ University," said President David S. Dockery . "He is an alumnus, parent of Â鶹ÊÓƵ graduates, and former trustee. We are blessed to recruit someone of Randy's many talents and professional background in our advancement program."
Phillips will focus on the acquisition of gifts and grants from foundations, corporations, businesses, and agencies along with maintaining important relationships with alumni and friends. He comes to the Â鶹ÊÓƵ position following a long and distinguished career as a licensed therapist in mental health and is recognized throughout the state and across the southeast for his leadership in this field. He will soon complete his doctoral studies at Southern Illinois University.

Phillips and his wife Ruth, a Â鶹ÊÓƵ alumna, have two children, Justin and Sarah, who are also graduates of Â鶹ÊÓƵ. He has served in numerous civic and community leadership positions in Â鶹ÊÓƵ City and also currently serves on the board of directors of Jackson's STAR Center.
