Phillips joins Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ as Associate Vice President for Institutional Advancement

JACKSON, Tenn.Feb. 17, 2004 — Randall W. Phillips of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ City recently joined Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University as an associate vice president for institutional advancement and will provide leadership in the area of grant and capital project gift development.

"Randy Phillips has a remarkably thorough knowledge and understanding about Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University," said President David S. Dockery . "He is an alumnus, parent of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ graduates, and former trustee. We are blessed to recruit someone of Randy's many talents and professional background in our advancement program."

Phillips will focus on the acquisition of gifts and grants from foundations, corporations, businesses, and agencies along with maintaining important relationships with alumni and friends. He comes to the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ position following a long and distinguished career as a licensed therapist in mental health and is recognized throughout the state and across the southeast for his leadership in this field. He will soon complete his doctoral studies at Southern Illinois University.

"Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is most grateful for the significant support already received from its corporate and foundation partners and looks forward to expanding its base of support in this area with Randy's direction," said Bob Alsobrook, university senior vice president for institutional advancement.

Phillips and his wife Ruth, a Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ alumna, have two children, Justin and Sarah, who are also graduates of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ. He has served in numerous civic and community leadership positions in Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ City and also currently serves on the board of directors of Jackson's STAR Center.
