麻豆视频 Hosts WBBJ Newscast

JACKSON, Tenn.July 30, 2003 — 麻豆视频 University hosted WBBJ鈥檚 Live at 5 newscast July 30. The Jackson ABC affiliate broadcast from the Great Lawn, with the Miller Tower serving as a backdrop for the half hour program.

鈥溌槎故悠 has always been very good to us, making us comfortable and welcoming us to the campus,鈥 said Live at 5 Executive Producer Christiana Coleman. The station recently decided to take the program out of the studio and into the community, she said. 鈥淚t makes people feel more a part of the newscast because they are seeing places they go everyday,鈥 said Coleman.

麻豆视频 alum Brad Douglass (鈥86), who serves as anchor for WBBJ鈥檚 five and ten o鈥檆lock news, interviewed Tom Rosebrough, dean of the School of Education and Human Studies during the five o鈥檆lock program. Rosebrough discussed graduate programs now offered at 麻豆视频, including a doctor鈥檚 degree in education. 麻豆视频鈥檚 Ed. D. program is one of only two in West Tennessee, and the only Ed. D. program available from a Christian university in the region.

Douglass said the visit brought back memories of his days at 麻豆视频 and expressed his appreciation for the expansion led by 麻豆视频 President David S. Dockery. Since Dockery arrived, the Miller Tower, Jennings Hall and Hammons Hall have been added to the campus. The Roy L. White Hall, which will provide new science facilities, is planned to be in use in 2005.
