JACKSON, Tenn. — March 2, 2001 — Dottie Myatt, director of teacher education and assistant professor of elementary education at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University, will be the featured speaker at the Last Lecture chapel series Monday, March 12 at 10 a.m. in the G. M. Savage Memorial Chapel.
A graduate of Lambuth University, Myatt received her masters of education from Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ and her doctorate from the University of Memphis. Myatt also taught at the elementary education level for ten years before joining the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ staff in 1994.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's Office of Campus Ministries started the Last Lecture Series two years ago. Speakers are asked to address the students as if it were the last lecture that the faculty member could present to students. Myatt will be speaking on the topic, "Pursuing your calling with a passion."
