JACKSON, Tenn. — April 14, 2003 — More than 100 Â鶹ÊÓƵ University students will participate in "Up 'Til Dawn," a fund-raiser for children's cancer treatment research at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, April 25-26.
"It's going to be a high-energy night," said Mark VanderHaar, director of student programs at Â鶹ÊÓƵ. "These students will be having fun and helping the children at St. Jude."
Teams of six students each will compete, with those raising the most money receiving prizes and a trophy. The night will also include live music from local bands, food, basketball and presentations from patients at St. Jude.
The 12-hour event is the finale of a year-long effort to benefit St. Jude. Students have also conducted a letter-writing campaign, sold candy bars and held car washes for the research hospital.
