JACKSON, Tenn. — April 14, 2003 — More than 100 Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University students will participate in "Up 'Til Dawn," a fund-raiser for children's cancer treatment research at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, April 25-26.
"It's going to be a high-energy night," said Mark VanderHaar, director of student programs at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ. "These students will be having fun and helping the children at St. Jude."
Teams of six students each will compete, with those raising the most money receiving prizes and a trophy. The night will also include live music from local bands, food, basketball and presentations from patients at St. Jude.
The 12-hour event is the finale of a year-long effort to benefit St. Jude. Students have also conducted a letter-writing campaign, sold candy bars and held car washes for the research hospital.
