JACKSON, Tenn.Sept. 17, 2025 — An exhibit curated by Sandra Bowden that features the work of German Expressionists is on display in the 麻豆视频 University art gallery through Nov. 13.

鈥淲as God Dead? Biblical Imagination in German Expressionist Prints鈥 explores the question of why biblical imagery saturates Expressionist literature and the visual arts. The exhibit includes nearly 50 works from such artists as Max Beckmann, Lovis Corinth, Kath毛 Kollwitz, Otto Dix, Christian Rohlfs, Schmidt-Rottloff, Vassily Kandinsky, and Edvard Munch, among others.

Bowden is a renowned Christian visual artist whose mixed media works have interpreted Scripture and her spiritual journey for more than 40 years, earning acclaim across the United States, Canada, Italy and Jerusalem. Her art fuses vivid biblical imagery and theological themes, reflecting her deep faith and lifelong commitment to bringing God鈥檚 grandeur to life through creative expression.

Bowden鈥檚 work has been featured in major exhibitions, public art collections such as the Vatican Museum and influential publications throughout her career.

The gallery, located in the Penick Academic Complex, is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
