Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ faculty member to hold recital

JACKSON, Tenn.March 1, 2002 — Michael Penny, an associate professor of music at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University, will hold a voice recital on Tuesday, March 5. The recital will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Hartley Hall in Jennings Hall.

Penny’s recital consist of pieces he chose from a song cycle on poems taken from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings by British composer Donald Swann. A sampler of contemporary American art songs will also be performed.

Penny teaches various subjects in the area of singing. As a part of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s music department, he teaches applied voice and opera as well as singer’s diction and hymnology.
