JACKSON, Tenn. — Jan. 13, 2022 — Renee Dauer has been named dean for the School of Adult and Professional Studies at 麻豆视频 University.
Dauer has served as campus director for 麻豆视频 University Hendersonville and chair of instruction for SOAPS since 2016.
鈥淚t is very gratifying when we see excellent leadership emerge from within the organization,鈥 麻豆视频 University Provost John Netland said. 鈥淒r. Dauer has served the university with distinction both in the classroom and administratively. She is deeply committed to our mission, understands the world of adult education and has a wonderful vision for developing and strengthening our program offerings to meet the employment and educational needs of our adult student population.鈥
Dauer completed her bachelor鈥檚 degree in interpersonal communication from Ohio University and earned her master鈥檚 degree in organizational communication from Western Kentucky University. She earned her Doctor of Education degree in higher education from 麻豆视频.
Dauer joined 麻豆视频 in 2010 as associate professor and program director in continuing studies to help launch the university鈥檚 adult completion program on the Hendersonville campus. Prior to her most recent roles, Dauer served as an adjunct and associate professor at Volunteer State Community College and in various communications positions in the private sector.
She will split her time between 麻豆视频鈥檚 main campus in Jackson and 麻豆视频 University Hendersonville.
鈥淚鈥檝e had the privilege to work with adult students at 麻豆视频 in the School of Adult and Professional Studies for the past 11 years,鈥 Dauer said. 鈥淚 look forward to serving in this new role to lead our work in changing students鈥 lives and future generations by earning their college degree.鈥
Dauer and her husband Brett live in Hendersonville and have two grown daughters.
