Robert Little Hundley, a 1948 Â鶹ÊÓƵ graduate and Mary Ruth Pearson Hundley, a 1956 Â鶹ÊÓƵ graduate, have both remained involved in the university as tireless volunteers, according to Gary Williams, executive director of alumni services at Â鶹ÊÓƵ.

After graduation from Â鶹ÊÓƵ, both became employed by the Madison County school system serving important roles there. Mary Ruth served as the library instructional supervisor and watched 22 elementary schools break ground in Madison County. Bob Hundley was the federal programs manager of Madison County Schools.

Outside of work in the school system, the Hundleys remain a consistent part of Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s future. Bob serves on the National Alumni Association Board of Directors and Mary Ruth is a member of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ University Ladies Auxiliary.

The Distinguished Service Award is based upon service to mankind and/or Â鶹ÊÓƵ University by an alumnus/alumna of the University.
