JACKSON, Tenn. — Feb. 12, 2002 — Â鶹ÊÓƵ University alum Roderic W. (Rod) Parker was announced as this year’s recipient of the university’s Outstanding Young Achiever Award at a special awards luncheon held recently during Â鶹ÊÓƵ Homecoming festivities.

Parker, a resident of Michie, Tenn., graduated in 1988 with a bachelor’s of science degree in accounting and finance. After receiving his degree from Â鶹ÊÓƵ, he began his career with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network and currently owns the Parker Group of the company. Parker is an annual qualifier for the Million Dollar Round Table in his industry.

A member of Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Board of Trustees, Parker is also a past board member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and C.A.R.E. (Center for Adult Reading and Enrichment).

The Outstanding Young Achiever Award is presented to one, age 35 or younger, who has a record of significant accomplishment in professional life and for service to Â鶹ÊÓƵ University or the world.
