JACKSON, Tenn. — Oct. 24, 2016 — ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ Universityβs department of music will hold its annual fall choral concert from 7:30 β 9:00 p.m. Oct. 27 at First Baptist Church in Jackson.
The concert gives ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ students an opportunity to share their work with the community, said Dan Musselman, acting chair of the music department.
βItβs the culmination of a long process of preparation as a group,β Musselman said. βThese musicians have something good to offer.β
Groups performing at the concert are Cantilena, Voices of Proclamation and the ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ University Singers. The choirs will perform many styles of music, including a piece from an oratorio and arrangements of Appalachian folk songs.
βSomething like this is becoming unique in our world -- a live performance of great work from both the past and the present,β Musselman said.
The concert is free and open to the public.
