JACKSON, Tenn. — May 7, 2015 — All 11 senior engineering students at ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ University passed their Fundamentals of Engineering exam in 2015 β a 100 percent pass rate compared a national average around 77 percent.
βI am delighted to celebrate this accomplishment with our 11 graduating seniors,β said Jeannette Russ, professor of engineering and department chair. βPassing the exam requires knowledge in a variety of areas, from economics and ethics to statistics and chemistry to thermodynamics and circuits.β
Russ said the studentsβ performance on the exam was evidence not only of the knowledge and diligence of each student, but of the excellent academic preparation they received from ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅βs engineering program β βpreparation that gives them a strong foundation for success in whatever career path they choose as they move on from ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅.β
The FE exam is a six-hour exam that is typically the first step toward licensure as a professional engineer. It is a national, standardized test administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying.
Of ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅βs 11 graduating classes in engineering since 2005, five have achieved a 100 percent pass rate. The programβs four-year rolling average is about 92 percent.
