JACKSON, Tenn. — May 2, 2014 — To the Â鶹ÊÓƵ community:
This morning, we were made aware of a security threat on Â鶹ÊÓƵ's main Jackson campus. We notified authorities and as a precautionary measure evacuated all students, faculty and staff from the campus.
Jackson police are investigating the threat fully, and we are cooperating with that investigation.
All Â鶹ÊÓƵ students and personnel are safe and accounted for, and we will reopen the campus when we are cleared to do so by the police. All classes for the remainder of the day on Friday are canceled.
We are grateful to the Lord for his continued protection. Thank you for your concern and for your friendship to Â鶹ÊÓƵ.
Faithfully,
David S. Dockery
President, Â鶹ÊÓƵ University
