JACKSON, Tenn. — Oct. 24, 2013 — Christianity Today editor Mark Galli will speak at ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ University Nov. 5 about why Christians should bother with todayβs βboring and bureaucratic church.β
βIt will be a βlittle ecclesiologyβ in light of some current temptations to either abandon church or to remake it in images that are less than Christ-like,β Galli said.
Galli has spent 24 years as an editor with Christianity Today, Leadership and Christian History magazines. He has written or co-written six books, from biographies (St. Francis of Assisi and a forthcoming book on theologian Karl Barth) to books on spirituality, such as βJesus Mean and Wildβ and βA Great and Terrible Love.β
He has also published dozens of articles in a variety of magazines.
βWhat a delight it will be for those of us at ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ University to welcome one of the truly outstanding Christian journalists in the broader evangelical world,β ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ President David S. Dockery said. βWe are certainly grateful for Mark's leadership at Christianity Today and for the opportunity to welcome him to ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅.β
Galliβs address will begin at 7 p.m. in Hartley Recital Hall, located in Jennings Hall on the west end of the ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ campus. It is free and open to the public.
