JACKSON, Tenn.Sept. 27, 2011 — Matthew Lee Anderson, author of β€œEarthen Vessels: Why Our Bodies Matter to Our Faith,” will lecture at ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ University Sept. 29.

Anderson is the founder of the Mere Orthodoxy blog and writes regularly for Christianity Today, First Things and The City. His lecture is entitled β€œThe (Physical) Body in Evangelical Practice and Politics.”

β€œMatthew Anderson’s latest book reminds us that our bodies matter because God’s creation matters, and we do well as Christians to think hard about what it means to worship an incarnational God and the implications our bodies have for how we live,” said Micah Watson, director of ΒιΆΉΚΣơ’s Center for Politics and Religion, which is sponsoring the lecture. β€œWe’re delighted to have him come to ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ and look forward to a great conversation.”

The lecture will begin at 7 p.m. in room D-3 in the Penick Academic Complex. It is free and open to the public.
