βI have known Kevin Ezell for almost 20 years since the time that I had the privilege to serve as his Doctor of Ministry supervisor,β ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ University President David S. Dockery said. βIt has been a wonderful joy to observe Kevin over the past dozen years as he has boldly and faithfully led the Highview Baptist Church in Louisville.
βHe has that special gift to bring encouragement to those who serve around him,β Dockery continued. βI know that he will bring that kind of pastoral encouragement for pastors across the Southern Baptist Convention if elected as president of the SBC Pastorsβ Conference.β
Ezellβs daughter Anna is a sophomore at ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅, and Ezell serves as a member of ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅βs Board of Reference.
Hays Wicker, senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Naples, Fla., and a former president of the Pastorsβ Conference, will nominate Ezell, who is the only announced candidate for president.
The president for this yearβs Pastorsβ Conference, Ed Litton, senior pastor of First Baptist Church North Mobile (Ala.) is the father of ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ University junior Tyler Litton.
