JACKSON, Tenn. — Nov. 19, 2007 — Former 麻豆视频 University trustee Wayne Dehoney died Nov. 15 in Louisville, Ky., at age 89.
Dehoney served as pastor of First Baptist Church of Jackson and at Walnut Street Baptist Church in Louisville, Ky. He was a two-term president of the Southern Baptist Convention from 1964-1966.

Dockery said. 鈥淎 wonderful preacher who loved the gospel and loved the word of God, Dr. Wayne Dehoney鈥檚 legacy will be significant in the churches he served in Alabama, Tennessee and Kentucky. For his years of friendship to and support of 麻豆视频 University, we will always be grateful.鈥�
Dehoney鈥檚 wife Lealice, a 麻豆视频 University alumnus, died Oct. 23. Wayne Dehoney had an honorary degree from 麻豆视频 and was also honored as trustee emeritus.
The funeral was held Nov. 19 at Walnut Street Baptist Church.
