Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University faculty member awarded for innovative teaching

JACKSON, Tenn.May 16, 2001 — Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University associate professor of history David Thomas has been awarded first place for the Howard Newell Innovative Teaching Award.

Selected by a committee of his peers, Thomas has been with the university since 1994. A graduate of Ohio State University, Thomas also received both his master’s of arts and his doctorate from Ohio State. A member of First Presbyterian Church, Thomas, along with his wife and three children, resides in Jackson.

Receiving honorable mentions for the award were Steve Beverly, assistant professor of communication arts and Brad Green, instructor of Christian studies.
