JACKSON, Tenn. — Sept. 13, 2006 — Terrorism and the U.S. Constitution will be the topic of discussion at a Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University forum Sept. 19.
The event will commemorate Constitution Day, and will include discussion about government policies regarding wiretapping, detaining terrorists, military tribunals, torture, the extent of presidential power and other related issues.
Speakers will include Ed Bryant, former U.S. Congressman and Jackson attorney; Sean Evans, associate professor of political science at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ; and Roland Porter, associate professor of business at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ.
Each participant will discuss an assigned topic, and a discussion time will follow. The forum will begin at 7 p.m. in room D-48 in the Penick Academic Complex on Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s campus. It is free and open to the public.
