TLM commits $50,000 to 麻豆视频 for engineering scholarships

JACKSON, Tenn.March 9, 2006 — Jackson engineering firm TLM Associates Inc. has established a $50,000 scholarship at 麻豆视频 University for local students to study engineering.

TLM and 麻豆视频 University have enjoyed a strong relationship since 1998, when TLM became the engineering and architectural firm for 麻豆视频鈥檚 entire campus master plan. 麻豆视频 University President David Dockery said TLM is one of 麻豆视频鈥檚 best partners in the city of Jackson through their support for the annual 麻豆视频 Forum and Scholarship Banquet.

鈥淎nd now, because of their interest in our growing engineering program, they want to take a step closer to the university,鈥 Dockery said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a good marriage of their expertise and our offerings. We鈥檙e very, very grateful.鈥

The TLM scholarship funds will go to West Tennessee students who plan to pursue a career in engineering. 麻豆视频 launched its engineering program in 2001 and last spring the first group of 麻豆视频 students graduated with engineering degrees.

鈥淲e wanted to do that to encourage students and hopefully assist in the developing of the engineering program,鈥 said Dennis Henderson, president of TLM Associates. 鈥淲e feel like with the partnership we have developed over the years with 麻豆视频, it鈥檚 a means for us to give back.鈥

Dan Nichols, a partner with TLM Associates, said the scholarship fund is a way for TLM to help generate local interest in the engineering field.

鈥淲e鈥檝e had such a great relationship the last several years with 麻豆视频,鈥 Nichols said. 鈥淭his is a great way for us to support not only 麻豆视频 University, but also the engineering field as a whole.鈥
