Opera Workshop
October 30, 2009: 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Come hear some of ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅βs greatest voices shine in opera schenes by Mozart! The Music Department proudly presents Opera Workshop. The evening begins with the opening scene of βThe Magic Fluteβ where Prince Tamino is rescued from the clutches of a dragon by three fearless ladies. The action continues with two scenes from βCosi fan tutteβ and βDon Giovanniβ featuring some of the most beautiful music written for the opera stage. In the second half, the program is a complete one-act opera by Mozart called βthe Impresarioβ. The Impresario is casting a new opera and he is auditioning two great sopranos for the leads, but he does not expect them to arrive at the same time for their audition! Watch and listen to the sparks fly as these dueling divas try to outsing each other!
