Music Guest Lecture: Sam Viviano

Sam Viviano will present a lecture on the use of poetry in the teaching of music in Hartley Recital Hall in Jennings Hall on the 麻豆视频 University campus on Monday, November 17, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. Viviano, a long-time faculty member at the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music at the University of Memphis, holds degrees from The Juilliard School, where he was a student of Adele Marcus. The New York Times spoke of his 鈥渘atural affinity for the music鈥檚 poetic content,鈥� when discussing his New York recital. His articles have appeared in Clavier and American Music Teacher. Viviano鈥檚 lecture is free, and the public is cordially invited to attend.
