Biography

Dr. Jay Beavers earned his B.A. from Grove City College, his M.A. from the University of Richmond, and a Ph.D. in Religion and Literature from Baylor University. At 麻豆视频 he has taught courses on literature and film, the short story, drama, and American literature. His current project, tentatively titled Outlaw Religion, is a book on the prophetic themes and characters in the novels of Cormac McCarthy. His other interests include the postmodern novel, southern American literature, film studies, and literature and theology. His essays have appeared in the South Atlantic Review and 滨苍迟茅驳谤颈迟茅.

Jay Beavers, assistant professor of English, did not originally plan to become an educator.

鈥淚t took me a while to figure out [that] I really like talking about [literature] with other people and sharing it with students and digging into scholarship,鈥 he said. 鈥淚t was one of those things that the more I did it, the more I fell in love with it.鈥
