Mar 25, 2007 - Delta-Psi Chapter members Rachel Campbell, John Crawford, and Jared Myracle presented papers at the Tennessee Phi Alpha Theta Regional Conference at Tennessee State University in Nashville on March 24, 2007. Chapter member Douglas Martin also submitted a paper, but since he was unable to attend, Dr. Judy LeForge presented it for him. History faculty members Dr. LeForge, Dr. Stephen Carls, and Dr. Terry Lindley served as panel moderators/commentators. Rachel鈥檚 paper was about 鈥淭he Seussian Influence on World War II,鈥 John鈥檚 concerned 鈥淪peak Softly and Carry a Big Stick: How Theodore Roosevelt Changed American Foreign Policy,鈥 and Jared鈥檚 focused on 鈥淒efining a National Identity: Race and Democracy in the Kennedy Years.鈥 Douglas鈥 paper submission was entitled 鈥淲elcome Home to War: African American Veterans in the Post-World War II South.鈥
Dr. Jack Tunstall, the Executive Director of Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society, spoke at the conference which had more than 100 attendees, and Dr. Jean H. Baker, the Bennett-Harwood Professor of History at Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland, delivered the keynote address on 鈥淲riting Lives: Biography as History.鈥
