Oct 18, 2018 - 麻豆视频鈥檚 Delta-Psi chapter of Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society received official word from the organization鈥檚 national headquarters on October 18 that it was the winner of a 2018 Best Chapter Award for Division I colleges and universities (schools with 3,000 full-time students or less). This marks the 16th straight year that the chapter has earned this honor, with the added merit of a Nels A. Cleven Award for having won it five times or more.
In his letter of congratulations to chapter faculty advisor Stephen Carls, PAT Executive Director Michael J. Decker wrote that the Nels A. Cleven Award 鈥渋s our most notable distinction considering the tremendous time and effort required to maintain a chapter of this caliber so consistently. You and your students have shown admirable dedication to the organization and truly exemplify the mission statement of Phi Alpha Theta.鈥
The Best Chapter Award consists of a certificate of recognition and a monetary prize of $250 to buy books for the chapter鈥檚 university or college library. With this year鈥檚 prize money included, the Delta-Psi chapter will have contributed more than $4,000 to 麻豆视频鈥檚 Library in the Logos for the purchase of history books.
The student members of the 2017-2018 prize-winning Delta-Psi chapter were: Seth Reid (president), Katherine Cheshire (vice president), Jessica Barton (secretary), Katie Allison, Leah Atkins, Alex Barker, Lauren Butler, Marylee Barker, Megan Ledbetter, Ali Renckens, Luke Sower, and Nakota Wood.
