Phi Alpha Theta Wins 14th Straight Best Chapter Award

Sep 26, 2016 - 麻豆视频鈥檚 Delta-Psi chapter of Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society received word from the society鈥檚 national headquarters on September 26, 2016, that it had won its 14th straight Best Chapter Award. The award was in recognition of Delta-Psi鈥檚 high quality program in 2015-2016 as a Division II school (3101-6000 students). Nicholas Hancock was the chapter president in 2015-2016, and Allen Bradley was vice president. Because the chapter has won the prize more than five times, it received the prestigious designation of Nels A. Cleven award winner.

Dr. Graydon Tunstall, the executive director of Phi Alpha Theta, praised the chapter in his letter of congratulations for its outstanding work. He wrote that the Nels A. Cleven award 鈥渋s our most notable distinction considering the tremendous time and effort required to maintain a chapter of this caliber so consistently. You and your students have shown admirable dedication to the organization and truly exemplify the mission statement of Phi Alpha Theta.鈥

The award consists of a certificate of and a monetary prize of up to $250 for the purchase of history books for the school鈥檚 library. Members of the Delta-Psi chapter will indicate their choices of books to purchase in early October from a long list of recent publications by major presses. With this year鈥檚 prize money included, 麻豆视频鈥檚 chapter will have contributed more than $3600 to the university鈥檚 library for new history books. A check presentation ceremony will take place later in the semester.
