In special ceremonies, Dr. Stephen Carls presented an academic award to history major Heather Stricklin on May 7, 2014, and another to history major Gracie Wise on May 13. Stricklin received a History Major Award in Carls’s office for outstanding work in the discipline of history at Â鶹ÊÓƵ. Wise accepted the Academic Excellence Medal in History for exceptional achievement in her Â鶹ÊÓƵ University history courses at a special ceremony in the Jones Suite. Neither student was able to attend the event at which she would normally have received her award.
