The Delta-Psi chapter of Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society presented a prize check that it received from Phi Alpha Theta headquarters as a part of its 2013 Best Chapter Award to 麻豆视频 University鈥檚 library on November 12, 2013. The $250 in prize money paid for 13 books that chapter members selected for the library鈥檚 history collection. Delta-Psi has won 11 straight Best Chapter Awards.

Gracie Wise, president of the Delta-Psi chapter, gave the check to Library Director Anna Beth Morgan in a ceremony held near a special Civil War exhibit titled 鈥淏inding Wounds, Pushing Boundaries: African Americans in Civil War Medicine.鈥� Chapter Vice President Charles Snow and Dr. Stephen Carls, the chapter faculty advisor, also participated in the ceremony.

The 13 books that the prize money purchased include: Appomattox: Victory, Defeat, and Freedom at the End of the Civil War by Elizabeth R. Varon; Blood Sisters by Sarah Gristwood; Castlereagh by John Bew; The Collaboration: Hollywood鈥檚 Pact with Hitler by Ben Urwand; Henry Ford by Vincent Curico; Knights of the Golden Circle: Secret Empire, Southern Secession, Civil War by David C. Keehn; Landscapes of the Metropolis of Death by Otto Dov Kulka; Lincoln鈥檚 Tragic Pragmatism by John Burt; Margaret Thatcher: From Grantham to the Falklands by Charles Moore; The Men Who Lost America by Andrew Jackson O鈥橲haughnassy; The People鈥檚 Car by Bernhard Rieger; Saving Italy by Robert M. Edsel; Stalin鈥檚 Curse: Battling for Communism in War and Cold War by Robert Gellately.
