Nov 22, 2004 - West Tennessee Congressman John Tanner served as a guest speaker in former Congressman Ed Bryant鈥檚 鈥淚nside Washington鈥� political science class on November 22, 2004. The class was also open to the general 麻豆视频 University community for the occasion. Congressman Tanner had just returned from Europe, where he was elected Vice President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, which is a union of legislative leaders in the NATO countries. The Congressman talked about terrorism and the role of NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) in combating it, NATO鈥檚 development of a rapid response force to meet emergency situations, Franco-American relations, and trade relations between the U.S. and Europe.
