Sep 1, 2002 - The Department of History and Political Science will host a Phi Alpha Theta (International History Honor Society) regional conference on February 22, 2003. The conference will include chapters from colleges and universities across Tennessee as well as surrounding states. Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Delta Psi Chapter, which was founded in 1953 and is the oldest in Tennessee, will use the occasion to help celebrate its fiftieth anniversary. Â鶹ÊÓƵ last hosted a conference in 1991, but it has a long tradition of sending history students to present papers at regional conferences both inside and outside of Tennessee. In the past decade, students from Â鶹ÊÓƵ have won prizes for outstanding papers at conferences in Tennessee, Alabama, Illinois, Kentucky, and Mississippi.
