#53 Lavanda Ross
SO, 5-8
Hometown: Jackson, Tenn.
Previous School: North Side HS
Lavanda had a great freshman season and exceeded all expectations on the offensive end. She plays as hard as anyone I have coached The best thing about ‘Vanda is that she desires to give her best effort for the benefit of the entire team. She wants no glory! She is coachable and too unselfish on the floor. I think we will see her become more aggressive and attack the basket more often as she is going to be asked to play a more significant role on our team.
Before Â鶹ÊÓƵ: Ross prepped at North Side High School in Jackson where she played four seasons of basketball for Coach Farris Lowery. Ross was named All-District and All-Region as a junior. She was also a member of the state runner-up team as a sophomore. As a senior, Ross is averaging 19.2 points and 7.4 rebounds. Through the first 17 games, she has 60 steals and has helped to team to a 16-1 start. Off the court, Ross is a member of the Honor Roll.
