The science of human language

The Applied Linguistics major prepares students for careers and vocations involving human language — including translation, interpretation, cross-cultural engagement and research. Students gain a framework for understanding language structure, acquisition and cultural significance, with a customizable 12-hour emphasis tailored to individual goals.
