NORTHSIDE'S DEATON SIGNS WITH UNIONJackson, TN--Jackson Northside High School standout, Rodney Deaton, signed a baseball scholarship with Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University today. The 6-2 pitcher had an outstanding senior season for the Indians. Deaton compiled a 7-2 record with one save while maintaining a low earned run average of 1.65. During his senior season, Deaton struck out 75 batters and only gave up 22 base on balls. Deaton earned All-District honors and was named to the Dyersburg Classic All-Tournament team. Deaton was also a member of Northside's golf team for three seasons. Deaton just completed his summer season for the Jackson Eagles where he finished with a 5-0 record and a 1.83 earned run average. Deaton will be joining Senath, Missouri's Keith Robertson and Jackson's Brian Bailey on the Bulldog roster for the 1998 baseball season. |
