UNION UNIVERSITY TIED FOR 17TH IN SEARS CUP

Jackson, TN--As of May 28, 1998, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University was tied for 17th in the 1997- 98 Sears Directors' Cup standings. The Sears Directors' Cup is administrated and compiled by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics. Winning schools in each division receive a Sears Directors' Cup Trophy.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University has presently earned 200 points in the competition as a result of the successful seasons that Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's seven athletic programs had during the 1997-98 season. Points are accumulated through post-season play in all sports that the NAIA offers. Simon Fraser University (British Columbia) is presently in the lead with 660 points. Berry College GA, who competes in the TranSouth Conference with Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, has compiled 290 points and is tied with Pacific Lutheran for a No. 7 ranking.
