UNION'S KEVIN OVERCASH NAMED ALL-AMERICAN
Jackson, TN--Â鶹ÊÓƵ University outfielder Kevin Overcash has been named to the 1997 NAIA Honorable Mention All-American team. The freshman from Collierville, Tennessee, led the Bulldogs in hitting this season with a .405 batting average. Overcash, a 1996 New York Yankee draftee, also set three new school records this season-singles in a season with 70, most stolen bases in a season with 56, and most consecutive stolen bases with 31.
Overcash earned several other honors this season including TranSouth Player of the Week, All-TranSouth Conference, and All-Mid-South Region.
