UNION'S STEPHEN HAMMOND NAMED ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICAN
Jackson, TN--Â鶹ÊÓƵ University golfer Stephen Hammond was named to the 1998 NAIA Academic All-American team this week. Hammond, a 1994 graduate of University School of Jackson, is a three-time Academic All-American and has been accepted into medical school at the University of Tennessee Medical School at Memphis.
This season Hammond was honored at the Jackson-Madison County Hall of Fame, won the Tennessee Intercollegiate Championship, and won the Delta State Invitational.
The Â鶹ÊÓƵ golf team finished tenth in the 1998 NAIA Men's Golf National Championships last week while Hammond finished tied for 33rd with a score of 308.
