UNION GOLF TEAM 18TH AFTER FIRST DAY OF PLAY
Tulsa, OK--The Â鶹ÊÓƵ University men's golf team is in 18th place after the first day of play on Tuesday at the 1998 NAIA Men's Golf National Championship. Â鶹ÊÓƵ has compiled a score of 321 and is 41 over par. So far none of the 172 players participating in the tournament have broken par on the difficult par-70, 6,835 yard layout.
The Bulldogs had three players finish tied for 65th overall with a first round score of 79. Micky Wolfe, Stephen Hammond, and Timmy Wolfe all finished at nine-over-par on the first day. Kevin Bromley and Willie Trevathon both shot an 84 on the day.
