UNION BASEBALL EARNS NCCAA HONORS
Jackson, TN--The Â鶹ÊÓƵ University baseball program earned several recognitions from the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) Mid-East Region this week. The Bulldogs third baseman Jeff Rowland was named Player of the Year while Andy Rushing was named Coach of the Year. John Koffman, Kevin Overcash, Brandon Myhand, Ed Grammer, and Bart Lindsey earned first team honors while Brian Pace earned honorable mention honors.
Â鶹ÊÓƵ just completed the 1998 season with a 42-20 overall record. This is the first 40-win season at Â鶹ÊÓƵ in 10 years. Â鶹ÊÓƵ advanced to the semifinals of the Mid-South Region Tournament in Elizabethton, Tennessee. The Bulldogs finished second in the TranSouth Conference Tournament and second in the regular season. Andy Rushing earned his 400th career victory this season on April 10 against Lipscomb University.
