UNION SOFTBALL PLAYERS EARN HONORS
Jackson, TN--The Â鶹ÊÓƵ University softball program has earned several honors in the last week. The Lady Bulldogs finished runner-up in the Mid-South Regional Tournament behind David Lipscomb University on Saturday to conclude their outstanding season.
On Tuesday night the All-Region team was named and two Â鶹ÊÓƵ players received honors. Junior pitcher Lynde Capogreco, a native of Herrin, Illinois, was not only named to the team, but was named as the Mid-South Region Pitcher of the Year. Junior shortstop Emma Hernandez from Mission Viejo, California, also joins Capogreco on the all-region team. Capogreco and Hernandez were also named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association NAIA Midwest Region Team.
The National Christian Colleges Athletic Association also named their All- American team last week. Hernandez was chosen for the All-American team while teammate Capogreco earned Honorable Mention honors.
