Jackson, TN--The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University softball program had five names on the All- TranSouth Conference list this year-pitchers Lynde Capogreco and Tina Spivey, infielders Terri Estes and Emma Hernandez, and catcher Chanda Franks. Capogreco also earned Co-Pitcher of the Year honors along with Erin Hall from Lipscomb University.
Capogreco also earned other numerous distinctions this week including NCCAA Student Athlete of the Week, TranSouth Pitcher of the Week, and Mid-South Region Pitcher of the Week. The junior from Herrin, Illinois, was 4-1 on the week with 4 shutouts, 2 no-hitters, and 2 one-hitters. She gave up only two hits and her only run (unearned) for the week was in a contest with No. 15 ranked Lipscomb University. Capogreco helped guide the Lady Bulldogs to a runner-up finish in both the TranSouth regular season and conference tournament which leads to a first time appearance in the Mid-South Regional Tournament. The righthander had 54 strikeouts in 31 innings and walked only 9 batters. Currently on the season, Capogreco has 14 shutouts, 2 no- hitters, 5 one-hitters, and 6 two-hitters.
