Jackson, TN--Two Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University softball players earned TranSouth Conference honors for the week of April 20-26, 1998. Pitcher Amanda Perjenski, a native of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, earned the TranSouth Pitcher of the Week honor. Perjenski was 4-0 on the week including three wins in the NCCAA National Tournament. In 24 innings pitched, Perjenski gave up only two earned runs for a 0.58 earned run average. Perjenski had 15 strikeouts with only three walks while pitching a one- hitter and a two-hitter on the week.
Shortstop Emma Hernandez earned the TranSouth Player of the Week honor. The native of Mission Viejo, California, was 8-for-16 on the week for a .500 batting average. Hernandez scored eight runs and had two runs batted in on the week while compiling a .652 on-base percentage.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, who has compiled a 46-12 record so far this season, will be hosting the TranSouth Conference Tournament this week beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 30, 1998. The tournament is scheduled to run through Saturday.
