Jackson, TN--Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University's centerfielder Kevin Overcash was named the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) Student Athlete of the Week for April 6-13, 1998. The 6-0 sophomore from Collierville, Tennessee, was 15-of-25 for a .600 batting average on the week. Overcash helped the Bulldogs capture the lead in the Western Division of the TranSouth Conference by scoring 11 runs with one double, two homeruns, and six runs batted in.
Overcash, a 1996 graduate of Collierville High School, presently ranks third on the Bulldog roster in hitting with a .386 average. Currently in the TranSouth Conference standings, Overcash ranks fourth in runs scored with 52 and fifth in stolen bases with 21. Overcash currently holds three of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's school records- Most Stolen Bases in a Season (56), Most Singles in a Season (70), and Most Consecutive Stolen Bases (31).
