UNION'S BART LINDSEY NAMED PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Jackson, TN--Â鶹ÊÓƵ University pitcher Bart Lindsey was named TranSouth Pitcher of the Week for April 6-13, 1998. The sophomore lefthander from Russellville, Alabama, compiled a 2-0 record on the week with victories over Missouri Baptist College and Lipscomb University. Lindsey pitched 10 innings on Saturday for the Bulldogs against Lipscomb to earn the win and to lead Â鶹ÊÓƵ into first place in the Western Division of the TranSouth Conference. On the week Lindsey pitched 16 innings giving up 11 hits and only three earned runs to compile a 1.68 earned run average. He also added 11 strikeouts on the week.
Lindsey, a 1996 graduate of Russellville High School, transferred to Â鶹ÊÓƵ this season after playing at Northwest Shoals Community College in 1997.
