UNION'S JOHN MELTON NAMED TRANSOUTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jackson, TN--Â鶹ÊÓƵ University catcher and designated hitter John Melton was named TranSouth Conference Co-Player of the Week for March 23-29, 1998. Melton, a sophomore from Ashland City, Tennessee, went 8-of-17 on the week for a .471 batting average. Melton, a graduate of Clarksville Academy, also added two doubles, two homeruns, six runs batted in, and five runs on the week.
Melton is presently ranks second in the conference in doubles while hitting .365 for the Bulldogs.
