Jackson, TN--Â鶹ÊÓƵ University softball player, Emma Hernandez, was named TranSouth Player of the Week for March 17-23, 1997. The junior shortstop helped guide the Lady Bulldogs to a 5-1 record for the week. In those six games, Hernandez went 12 for 17 with 8 runs, 2 doubles, 4 runs batted in, and a batting average of .706.
In her collegiate career Hernandez has been named All-Conference in both 1995 and 1996 and has been essestial in the building of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ softball program which began its first season in 1995. In the last two seasons, Hernandez has helped the Lady Bulldogs compile a 51-24 record.
